Community supports Marco Polo
efforts.

This is the text of
a letter that was sent to Barry Ogden, chairman of the Marco Polo II Project
Committee. It is reproduced here with the writer's
permission. On behalf of the board and staff of Enterprise
Saint John I want to congratulate you on the success of your efforts with
respect to the Marco Polo II Project and, more particularly, the unveiling of
the Marco Polo postage stamp. As I believe you and your
committee are aware, the Greater Saint John community strongly support your
efforts. Your work, and the success of the project, is of historic and cultural
significance not only to Greater Saint John, but to New Brunswick and
Canada. More particularly, recognizing this magnificent
ship by a stamp, and by the construction of a replica in Saint John will serve
not only as a wonderful event for our communities, but it will also result in a
significant tourism attraction for Greater Saint John. Your efforts contribute
significantly to Enterprise Saint John's promotion of regional co-operation in
tourism. Thank you for your continued efforts from the
communities of Greater Saint John.
