Proud Heritage - Marco
Polo by Capt. C. (Bud) Robinson
Captain Robinson was sailing on the
Great Lakes and Gulf of St. Lawrence since age 16. Two years running to
Halifax, Sydney and Little Narrows, N.S. as Captain of the m.v. Nanticoke.
Promoted to ships Captain in 1976 for Canada Steamship Lines. Held this
position until taking an early retirement in the year of 2000.
Captain Robinson painted ships from a very early age, but
does not remember when he started. Mainly influenced by his father, also a
ships Captain, who painted many marine works. Captain Robinson has done
numerous ship portraits on commission for various shipping companies, and
private individuals throughout the world. He has now taken up Marine Art full
time. Captain Robinson was asked to do a painting in
support of Epilepsy Toronto, which went on auction Fri. evening (Nov.1) For
this he chose to do the Marco Polo. We are very proud to
display this beautiful painting of the Marco Polo on these pages. If you would
like to see more of Captain Robinson's art please visit his site at:
