Atlantic Canada's Biggest Zoo

   Welcome to Magnetic Hill Zoo Canada's largest. See more than 400 animals of over 90 different Species in our forty acre facility.
   Come and visit the Siberian Tigers, South American Jaguars, Dromedary Camels, Grants Zebras, Scimitar Horned Oryx, Squirrel Monkeys, Lemurs from Madagascar, Arctic Wolves, Capybara, East African Crowned Cranes, Burmese Pythons, South American Tarantulas and many, many more animals from every corner of the world.

Educational and Fully AccreditedScimitar Horned Oryx
    Fully accredited by the Canadian Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums, the Magnetic Hill Zoo offers visitors an experience of nature's wonders that is as diverse as it is educational. Let a trained guide start your zoo experience in one of the hour long Day Adventure Tours, at 1Oam and 12:30 daily. Then explore on your own. Come "Meet the Keeper" at 1 pm each day at the show area, where zoo keepers will exhibit and discuss animals of interest and answer questions on the Magnetic Hill Zoo and the animals in their care.
Visitors can get up close and personal with the animals in our Wildlife Contact Area, where the Fallow and Sika deer will nibble their feed from the palm your hands. Also take a stroll through the barnyard and pet the Pygmy goats and other friendly critters. The children can enjoy a pony ride, or make new friends in the playground area.

Award Winning Educational Programs
   The Zoo has initiated a variety of education programs in recent years, the caliber of which has merited the prestigious Tom Baines Award, Students from ages 5 to 13 can enroll in one of four, week long adventures where learning about the animals and the need for conservation is guaranteed to be fun and exciting, Students from ages 14 to 18 can enroll in the Animal Care Apprenticeship Program where they will spend a week with the zoo keepers learning about the exotic and native species they will help care for.

Learn About Endangered Species
South American Jaguars   Enter Animundi and view the display of wildlife products which contribute to the trade in endangered species. Provided by the Canadian Wildlife Service of Environment Canada, these products help explain what not to purchase when you are traveling out of the country.

Your Birthday at the Zoo
   Come celebrate your birthday at the Zoo! Two birthday packages are available for children under 12 yrs of age. Both packages offer lower admission rates and one package includes a lunch, birthday cake, presents, and a host.

Help Preserve Animal Habitat
Artic Wolf   Many hours can be spent strolling through the zoo enjoying the animals and the fresh air. Your visit is guaranteed to be educational and relaxing. So come visit Tomar and all of his companions! They're looking forward to seeing you.

Opening Hours
   The zoo is open from Victoria Day Weekend to Thanksgiving Weekend, seven days a week, from 9am until 7pm. We are wheelchair accessible. For all information, give us a call at the Zoo.
