Charles Connell House National Historic Site 128 Connell Street,
Woodstock, NB. Open Year Round (506-328-9706) Built for the Honourable Charles
Connell in 1839, Connell House is one of Canadas finest examples of early
19th century Greek Revival architecture, its massive columns exemplify the
lofty aspiration and ambitions of the original occupant. In his time, Charles
Connell was a prominent businessman and politician, but far beyond New
Brunswick, his place in history endures as the central figure in the
fascinating saga of the Connell Stamp. This site was restored in
2008 and contains many artifacts significant to Carleton County. Throughout
July and August tours are available in period costume. The museum also has a
gift shop which sells NB fine crafts.
