Sackville
Waterfowl Park
A three minute walk
from Town centre, the park contains over 3 kilometres of footpaths and
boardwalks through the wetlands; guided tours offered daily during the summer
months. Tours include a visit to the Canadian Wildlife Service's Wetlands

Sackville
Harness Shop Canada's oldest handcrafted
decorative horse leather manufacturer; built in 1919; producing horse collars,
saddles, harnesses and other domestic leather goods. Drop into the store at 39
Main Street to smell the leathers and dyes and listen to the sewing machines.

Mount Allison
University Founded in 1840, the first university in
the British Empire to grant a Bachelor Degree to a woman and home of the oldest
Fine Arts Programme in Canada. For self-guided walking tours of the campus,
brochures are available on the first floor of Centennial Hall at Student
Administrative Services Offices 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. Phone

Radio Canada
International Canada's most powerful short-wave
radio transmitters; broadcasting to eastern Europe and South America. Free
tours are available daily 10 am to 6 pm. RCI is located on the marshes off the

Fort Beausejour
National Historic Site A star-shaped fort off route
102 in Aulac. It was the site of the beginning of the Seven Years War. See
restored underground casemates and interpretive paintings. The fort was taken
by Col. Robert Monckton prior to the expulsion of the Acadians in 1755. Tours
daily. Special activities on Canada Day (July 1), Parks Day (July 18), NB Day

Keillor House -
Dorchester A House Museum, built of local stone in
1813 by a Yorkshire stone mason. Beautifully restored, it depicts local life
and history from 1800 to 1900. Approximately 30-minute guided tours are
available from June 1 to September 15, 10 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week. Admission
S2.00. It is also the location of the Maritime Penitentiary Museum covering 100
years of crime and punishment. A good reference, research and genealogical

Museum - Dorchester Located in St. James
Presbyterian Church (1884). A history of textiles and other domestic crafts and
trades. Demonstrations and teaching of carding, spinning and weaving. Open 10

The Owens Art
Gallery The Owens Art Gallery- is the oldest
university art gallery in Canada (1895) featuring work from a large permanent
collection of historical and contemporary art. There are over 2,500 artworks of
Canadian and international origin. The Gallery is Open year-round and is
located on Mount Allison University campus off York Street. Summer hours are
from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Saturday

Fog Forest
Gallery Fog Forest Gallery - located at 14 Bridge
Street, Sackville, this gallery has represented many of Atlantic Canada's
finest artists and craftspeople since 1984. Summer hours are from 10:00 am to

Struts
Gallery Struts Gallery - located at 7 Lorne Street
in Sackville, an artist-run centre which was established in 1982, is dedicated
to presenting local, regional and national contemporary artist- initiated
activities including expositions, performances, demonstrations, workshops,

The Craft
Gallery The Craft Gallery - located on King Street
above the Sackville Tourist Information Centre, this artisan-run craft shop
showcases local crafts including jewelry, pottery, textiles and stained glass.
Summer hours are from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Saturday and from 1:00
