Discovery Byway Part I
Route 890 (Sussex to Petitcodiac)

Discover Route 890 - meander through rolling hills. Discover Covered Bridges, New Brunswick Crafts, Historic Churches, Museums, Roses and Honey.

Capture the beauty of the countryside in photographs. Take time to chat with the "locals" and be sure to visit the Tourist Centre at the Sussex end of Route 890. Volunteer seniors love to meet the "visitors" and share the history of this beautiful area.

Get up-close and personal with the countryside along Route 890. Be adventurous and explore the side-roads. At Newtown visit the "Oldfield Bridge", at Corn Hill stop and smell the roses at the Nursery. Near Petitcodiac follow the signs to Honey Tree Farm, you may be in time for a lesson on beeswax.

Route 890, just a section of "The Covered Bridges Discovery Byway" is worth slowing down for and really enjoying Southern New Brunswick.

Part I

Route 890 (De Sussex à Petitcodiac)

Découvrez la Route 890 - avec ses chemins sinueux traversant ses deuces collines. Découvrez les Ponts Couverts, l'artisanat du Nouveau-Brunswick, les églises historiques, les musées, les roses et te miel.

Saisissez sur pellicule la beauté de la campagne. Prenez le temps de jaser avec les "gens du coin" et surtout, assurez-vous de visiter le Centre d'lnformation Touristique de Sussex situé au bout de la Route 890. Vous pourrez échanger sur l'histoire de cette belle région grâce à l'accueil chaleureux que vous réservent les ainés de cette ville.

La Route 890 vous permettra de goúter et d'apprécier Ia campagne. Ne manquez pas d'explorer les routes rurales. A Newtown, vous pourrez visiter le "Oldfield Bridge", à Corn Hill, arrêtez-vous à la pépinière pour sentir le doux parfum des roses. En approchant Petitcodiac, suivez les indications pour vous rendre à "Honey Tree Farm", qui sait, peut-être serez-vous la à temps pour assister à un exposé sur la cire d'abeilles.

La Route 890, même si elle ne représente qu'une partie du "Trajet À La Découverte des Ponts Couverts", vaut la peine de s'y attarder pour vraiment apprécier le sud du Nouveau- Brunswick.
